Senior Manager
About me - Following school, I spent 4 years at St Andrews University completing a BSc in Maths and Physics. After exploring several potential career options, I found myself following in my father’s footsteps into accountancy. I joined Baker Tilly (later re-branded as RSM) in 2011 as a graduate on an ICAS training contract. I qualified as a CA with RSM in 2016 and progressed in my career, promoted to Manager in 2018 and I also held the role of Audit Group Manager for Lerwick. I reached the level of Senior Manager in 2024. In September 2025, the Lerwick office transferred to Scholes at which point I also joined their team.
What I do at Scholes - I am responsible for planning, review and completion of statutory audit and accounts assignments for our charity and company clients. My role is focussed on quality of service and timely delivery of the audit and accounts to ensure reporting deadlines are met. We are also an ICAS training office, and I support our audit trainees with their studies and logbooks.
More about me - I am married with three sons, and they bring me fun and joy every day – from Sonic the Hedgehog to Minecraft and Pokemon there is never a dull moment. We also have four cats, so we are thoroughly outnumbered but we are never lonely!
