Associate Director

About me - I graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in Maths in 1988 and then completed my Chartered Accountancy qualification with Kidsons Impey in 1991. I worked in audit and accounts until 2008 when I left to work in our family business and later also started working with a local employability charity. I’m still involved in both which has given me, and continues to give, valuable insights and experience. I rejoined RSM, as it had become, in 2016 as an audit manager before moving to the accounts and advisory side where I am now an associate director.
What I do at Scholes - I work with our clients from owner managed businesses to charities to companies with foreign ownership, from small to large in a wide range of industries. I mainly manage our statutory accounting and other reporting and advisory services and really enjoy the variety and getting to know clients and their businesses. I also look after training of our students and help with business development.
More about me - We have two grown up daughters based in Edinburgh & Stirling. I am on the committee of their swimming club, Lerwick ASC and am treasurer for Shetland Swimming Association. I became the swimming representative on Shetland Island Games Association in 2011 and I am now chair there. Volunteering with all these organisations has given me great experiences and opportunities. Besides that, I enjoy reading, going to concerts, travel and gardening.
