About me – After studying in Glasgow I started my Chartered Accounting training in Lerwick, having spent summers working here. I am proud to have supported many local businesses, starting off with a more general background, graduating to accounting, advisory and audit working with local and some international firms. Along the way I have gained industry insights into fishing and aquaculture as well those businesses supporting them and more traditional agricultural. The third sector (charities) is also a key cornerstone of the work I have been involved in over the years. Energy and renewables are also of keen interest given the tides and wind we experience here in Shetland.
What do I do at Scholes – I have responsibility for the Lerwick office looking after clients with my fellow colleagues. There is nothing better than being able to assist clients achieve their goals. I continue to provide advisory, accounting and audit services to local, national and international clients.
More about me – it has been a busy time of late so to relax I like to walk, visit Clickimin and Mareel as well as reading or listening to podcasts/audiobooks. Family is important, so catching up with those near and far away is always on the list. There is always time for a cup of tea, which must be builder’s tea strength.
